I am Stefan Vučić, a fine‑art photographer based in Gdańsk, Poland. My work focuses on architecture, landscape, and the cultural memory of places, with a particular interest in passages and other in‑between places, reconstruction, and the persistence of shared histories in the built environment.
I approach photography as visual research. Projects such as Hanseatic Thresholds grow out of journeys and historical inquiry across the Baltic and North Sea region.

Statement
Hanseatic Thresholds is a photographic investigation of the Baltic Sea region’s cultural memory - the network that once connected its ports and cities. Though the Hanseatic League no longer exists, its relationships continue to resonate in the architecture, materials, and atmosphere of the places it shaped.
Beginning in Gdańsk and extending along historic trade routes, the project follows a broader field than official “Hansestadt” titles: the material and intangible traces through which a Hanseatic sensibility remains perceptible. “Hanseatic” here is not only preserved monuments, but the ongoing relationship between the built environment and the forces that shape it, such as light, weather, geography, and time.
Doors, portals, votive niches, cemeteries, and other thresholds are the principal motifs. These are not illustrations of the past, but sites where memory and presence meet: between interior and exterior, public and private, the visible present and the histories embedded within it.
